I would be in so much trouble!

Police in Hartford Conn. are charging students with cursing. That's right, using the f-word, or s**t will cost you $103 US each and every time you utter the phrase. They apparently want to "bring back order to the schools."

If the student can't afford the fines, his or her parents HAVE to pay it for them.
WHAT!!! How does this teach them anything?? Here's the deal. The kids are going to swear so let's punish them by putting them to work picking up litter in schoolyards, or in public parks, a sort of chain-gang style of detention. How does a teenager learn anything if their parents serve out their children's sentences?

I swear like a sailor, at home, and after work, but not around children, and not in places where it is inappropriate. In fact, I'm sure that this morning alone, I would have been fined a total of $618 Canadian :-)
