Is Deadwood Over?

The HBO series Deadwood, about a mining town in the Black Hills, might not last after this new season. Travis and I both like this gritty drama about the gold rush in South Dakota, circa 1876. Apparently, HBO has announced that they are not going to pick up the contract options for Deadwood's cast members. This could be a sign that there will not be a fourth year. Boo Urns!!!

In spite of the violence, and the cussing, and the dirt, I really like this show. Plus, it has the incredible Canadian actress, Molly Parker as Alma Garret, a woman whose husband, Brom, died under mysterious circumstances. She is also slightly addicted to laudanum, but really, who isn't these days?

We have Season one, and Season two comes out on May 23rd. Season three airs on HBO and in Canada on Movie Central on June 11th. I know that we will be watching, and hoping that they renew the contracts for a fourth year.
