John Lennon 1940-1980

Twenty five years ago today, the world lost one of the greatest singers / songwriters / poets / artists / activists in history. John Lennon was shot outside of his home in New York City by a deranged Mark Chapman.

I am a huge Beatles fan. Pre- and post- breakup of all of them, but John was always my favorite. When I'm asked who I'd like to meet, alive or dead, John always tops my list. My Dad was the one who introduced me to the Beatles, and I can remember the Imagine album being played on this day, even as a child. The same now in my own home, the Magical Mystery Tour is playing right now, the White Album is next.
